The Sum of All Compromises Is a Choice...Real Life Examples

To satisfy the most skeptical reader, I herein present a few real life examples of the utlimate truth...

You are voting to elect your friendly neighborhood Member of Parliament...you need to choose one candidate from a list of 100...you are not sure of your first choice not asking money out of you to table your questions in Parliament...you are not sure of your second choice wanting to see the roads repaired...you are not sure of your third choice wanting to...yes the list is endless...or 100 whichever comes earlier...be that as it may...the fact of the matter being you really have no choice...the one who gets stamped by you...and keeps stamping upon you for the rest of the elected period...is a mere compromise...

So how is it that the sum of all compromises is a choice...Let us say that you have compromised on number 42, so does your neighbor and your neighbor's neighbor, ad communitum...or most of the community for that matter...and number 42 thus gets elected...and keeps stamping upon you and your neighbor and your neighbor's neighbor and also the neighbors who did not stamp on number 42...ad communitum...as the chosen one...QED...

Did you know that asking a sufficiently large number of people to choose a number between 1 and 100, would result in the number 42 being chosen by the majority...or should I say compromised...if you do not believe...try it out on your community...

OfLiThUnAnNo...The Sum of All Compromises is a Choice

This is what brings me to OfLiThUnAnNo, Of Life, The Universe, and Nothing...A train of thought, continuing from where Woody and Douglas stopped...Yes they did...if they had not...would we need to keep seeking...the truth...

The sum of all compromises is a choice...

One may ask...how?...why?...and a whole lot of other questions in an increasing order of complexity...

Yes the sum of all compromises can be as simple as a 42, as was the answer to the question of Life, The Universe and Everything, and yes it all depends on the question...

Is there a God or would you go hungry when it is all over?

Woody Allen tried to answer one of the above and Douglas Adams tried his hand at the other...both successful in their own ways...it left a nagging doubt though, in the minds of some...this blogger being one...I mean to say...if one knew the answers to both...all other questions are rendered not worthy of answering...aren't they?

At one point Woody writes..."What if the universe is not rational and people are not set things? Then we could change the ending and it wouldn't have to conform to any fixed notions. You follow me?"...Did Douglas?..when he created his restaurant...maybe...maybe not

In this irrational world of skyscrapers and elevators a.k.a "Sirius Cybernetics Corporation Happy Vertical People Transporters" by Douglas, maybe it is time to rationalize...or just wait for them to go about flitting sideways?
